How to gain respect from friends

What happens when you join a new group of friends? You get to meet them. You crack some jokes and show them you are fun to be with. After a few meeting they crack a joke on you and you take it. You take all the jokes occasionally being pulled on you. After many of em' you become the laughing stalk of the group and other people around you call you names.
Now if you want to be held in a strong esteem by your friends what should you do ? Its more common that i see that when talking to your friends you use your basic instincts to react and nothing more than that. The first thing is that you got to use your brains.

1) Use your conscious mind. Without using it you will be a caveman-in-the-group type.

2) Receive actual subliminal messages. When person says something scrutinize the sentence in your mind by repeating it. When he says something his mind is actually covering up the subliminal message into a socially acceptable message. You got to get the point and respond to it with your wits and courage without offending the others.

3) Send subliminal messages. Don't just take the things to their face value. Now what kind of message would you like to send? I fyou wanna tell that I am far better than all of you, just hint on some points where you have done far better than them or even better do something better in front of them. Generate a little fear in them.

4) Be choosy. Dont always give in to your friends. Make choices on your own without being influenced by them. Then they wont take you for granted.

Follow these steps and within a week you will be treated with more courtesy by your friends.
